Barcelona vs Sevilla, Copa Del Rey 03.03.2021

Trailing 2-0 from the first leg, Barcelona have an uphill task in the second leg of their Copa Del Rey semi-final tie which takes place this Wednesday at the Camp Nou.

The winner of this tie will face either Levante or Athletic Bilbao who are in the other semi-final.

With so much at stake, this should be one hell of a cracker. We will be looking at Ogabet bookmaker review prices for our betting tips here.

Barcelona returned the favor with a 2-0 win over the Andalusians in Seville on Saturday for their 15th unbeaten game in La Liga. This terrific run has seen them chipping in on Atletico’s gap at the top and it is now down to just five points, although Barca has played a game more.

Coach Ronald Koeman will be hoping that was a precursor of what is to come in this clash. He made a tactical change last with a 3-5-2 formation, allowing their two wingbacks Sergio Dest and Jordi Alba more freedom moving down the flanks which put Sevilla on the backfoot for most of the game.

A two-goal deficit is a massive hole to dig from but certainly not out of reach for this Barca team.

With their Champions League tie hanging in the balance, this competition represents a realistic path to another silverware for Sevilla this season after they lifted the Europa Cup last season.

That loss at home to Barcelona brought a halt a run of six straight league wins that had seen them also move up the table and position themselves as one of the dark horses for the La Liga title. They are still in contention as they sit in fourth place in the league, just five points off the hosts, but with a game in hand.

Julen Lopetegui was thoroughly outcoached at the weekend and will need to go back to the drawing board if he hopes to sneak through to the final.

This is a massive game for both of these teams. With relatively “easier” teams awaiting the winner of this tie in the final, it looks very likely that the winner of this tie might just go on to win it all. Barca will look to get back into this tie at the earliest opportunity while Sevilla is likely to be content to keep things tight at the back for as long as they can while trying to steal an away goal on the counter that will more than likely kill the tie. There is no love lost between these teams. We had seven bookings in the last game. With plenty of action expected in the first half of this game, the first-half card market is of interest here and we fancy Over 1.5 first-half bookings @ 1.49 as our first betting tip for today.

The game has goals written all over it. With Barca determined to attack from the get-go, they will more than likely leave themselves a bit exposed at the back which therefore means there will be opportunities for both of them. Sevilla have the quality to punish Barca’s often suspect backline as they showed in the first leg. With this in mind, we feel both teams to score @ 1.70 is reasonable enough for our final prediction here.
