European powerhouses and old foes Italy and Spain will renew their hostilities the semifinals of Euro 2020 on Tuesday in Wembley.

Italy have without a doubt been the most captivating team to watch in this tournament. They breezed through Group A, beating Turkey, Switzerland and Wales by an aggregate score of 7-0. They were taken to task by a stubborn Austrian side in the last 16 before getting back to where they were in the quarterfinals, making mincemeat of world number one, Switzerland in a thrilling 2-1 win.

The Azzurri have expertly combined their traditional defensive solidity with a breathtaking attacking football under Roberto Mancini and are favorites to go all the way.

Mancini will be without Leonardo Spinazzola who has been one of their revelations after he tore his Achilles and has been ruled out for the rest of the tournament.

It has not been smooth sailing for Spain thus far in the tournament. They barely scraped through the group stage and were taken to task by both Croatia and Switzerland in the round of 16 and quarterfinals respectively, needing post-match penalties to dispatch off a hard-hitting Swiss Army.

Despite their struggles, La Roja remains a dangerous outfit. They are looking to eclipse Germany as the most successful team in this tournament. They have won the previous three times they went past the quarterfinals, with two of those triumphs coming against Italy.

This is an incredibly difficult game to call. These are two great football giants and they are both capable of turning it up at any moment. Neither has lost a game thus far in the tournament and it may take a moment of brilliance to separate them. We anticipate a tight start to the game as both teams try to impose their will on the game. We are therefore the game to be level at the break @ 1.97 as the first of our Euro 2020 betting predictions today.

Italy have been the more impressive team though and they looked exceptionally brilliant against Belgium. What gives them an edge is their clinical finishing in front of goal which has been Spain’s Achille’s heel. La Roja created lots of opportunities against Switzerland in the quarterfinals for instance but were too wasteful. Such profligacy will be punished heavily should they make the same mistake here. We feel this is the year the Azzurri will earn their revenge for the heartbreaks they have suffered at the hands of the Spaniards. We are therefore taking Italy to Qualify @ 1.70 as our final tip for this clash.
