GHANA

Ghana’s quest to make it back to football’s grandest stage after missing out last time out ran into strong winds when they were surprisingly held to a 1-1 draw by Ethiopia in a match many pundits had tipped them to win. Andre Ayew’s first-half goal set them on course for victory but a late equalizer by Ethiopia in front of their home fans saw them earn a share of the spoils.

That notwithstanding, the draw did not significantly alter the equation coming into the last round of matches. The Black Stars can still qualify from the group if they beat South Africa since as they have scored more goals in their five matches.

SOUTH AFRICA

South  Africa have been solid all through the campaign, going unbeaten in their 5 matches (4W, 1D) to top the group with 13 points. They defeated Zimbabwe 1-0 in their last match thanks to Teboho Mokoena’s first-half goal but although this win took them to the top going into the last round, their failure to win by a bigger margin means the race for the leadership of Group G still hangs in the balance.

Bafana Bafana still has all the aces in this race as they only have to avoid defeat to qualify. Despite their lack of firepower up front, they can count on their solid backline that has kept a clean sheet in all but one of these 5 matches, including the reverse match with the hosts that they won 1-0.

GHANA VS SOUTH AFRICA BETTING PREDICTIONS

This will be one hell of a chess match. Both teams have a chance to qualify for the playoffs and they will both be looking to do just that. Ghana with the home crowd behind them will probably look to dominate from the start but South Africa have shown quite a bit of resilience on the defensive end and will look to put them at bay in the early going. As a result, we feel the opening half of this game will be a closely fought half but we think both teams will do enough to cancel each other to be level at the half @ 1.98 with Gbets welcome bonus

The Black Stars were a bit undermanned in the first leg but they will have their full squad in this one. As such we give them a slight edge here now that they have their full complements and they will be in their own backyard. That said, this should still be a low scoring encounter given the stakes at play. Betboro registration bonus have the option of a combo bet of Ghana/Draw and Under 2.5 Goals @ 1.61 and we are going with it for our final pick.
