Juventus will be digging in to consolidate their lead at the summit of the Serie A when they host Lecce on Friday evening.
Â
After a disheartening loss to Napoli on penalties in the Coppa Italia final, Juventus got their act together as first-half goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Paolo Dybala saw them running out 2-0 winners over midtable Bologna to pick up three crucial points and stretch their winning streak in the league to four games.
Maurizio Sarri’s side are now four points clear at the top of the table following Lazio’s loss at Atalanta on Wednesday. Inter is third, 9 points adrift.
Lecce are staring at relegation in the eye after just one season in the top flight following their promotion from the second tier for this 2019/20 season. They have only managed to amass 25 points from their 27 league games this season to sit 18th in the table, although their fate is still not sealed with a lot of football left to play.
They are going through a rough patch at the moment though having lost their last three in Serie A games, including an embarrassing 7-2 defeat to Atalanta and a 4-1 loss to AC Milan either side of the enforced break.
Juventus are 4 points clear of second-placed Lazio in the race for the Seria A title. But with 11 games still left to play, they will not be taking anything to chance. This game gives them an opportunity to extend that cushion at the top to seven points which will only exert more pressure on the chasing pack. Following Juve’s bitter cup loss, you can be sure they have trained their guns on the Scudetto as a way to appease their fans. We expect them to go for Lecce’s jugular from the get-go and we are predicting they will win this game at halftime and fulltime @ 1.48 as our initial betting tip for this game.
Juventus have the best defence in the league. They have only conceded 24 goals in the 27 matches they have played. At home they are even more ruthless, letting in just 10 in 13 home games. They have won 7 of the last 8 games at home in all competition and kept 6 clean sheets in that run. Lecce haven’t done well on their recent travels either. They’ve lost 5 of their last 6 away games and failed to find the back of the net in 4 of those games. We fancy Juventus to keep another clean sheet here @ 1.71 on Bet9ja betting app‘s as our final betting tip.
