Uruguay – Korea betting tips & odds comparison 24.11.2022

South America representatives Uruguay kick off their 2022 World Cup campaign against South Korea at the Education City Stadium on Thursday.

La Celeste have been in great form under new coach Diego Alonso who took over the reins from Oscar Tabarez at the end of last year.

Our preview will explore Betbonanza and 1xBet betting options and prices for our 2022 World Cup betting predictions for this clash.

URUGUAY

Uruguay are making their 4th straight appearance at the World Cup and despite the sacking of Tabarez after 15 years at the helm, they have looked really solid under Alonso. He came in and instilled his style of play fairly quickly and they instantly turned around the woeful performances that put their qualification status in South America in jeopardy into impressive wins that saw them make the cut.

Alonso is however still undecided on both his starting 11 and the formation that would go with that though he has shown a preference for 4-4-2 and 4-3-2-1 in his brief stint. Whatever he settled for, he will still be keen to maintain the solid defence that has seen them concede just two goals in his 9 games.

He has a plethora of attacking weapons at his disposal too with Suarez, Darwin Nunez, Cavani and Maxi Gomez all vying for his attention with great shifts this year for both club and country. A strong start here is what they will be looking for to underline their intentions.

SOUTH KOREA

South Korea, on their part, seem to be on the other end of the spectrum form-wise. They have not only been poor in their warmup games leading up to this tournament, but they suffered a major blow when star player Son Heung-min suffered an injury while playing the last round of Champions League games for Tottenham, and had to undergo surgery on a fractured eye socket. He is still in the squad but clearly not at 100% so they may not get the best version of him.

They downed Germany in 2018 in Russia but couldn’t sustain the performance with losses to Mexico and Sweden that saw them exit at the group stage. This is a tough group they are in and will need all the willpower to ring a similar upset if they harbor any hopes of making it to the round of 16.

Despite their loss of form and lack of viable attacking options, coach Paulo Bento can turn to the defence as their calling card here. They were quite solid in their qualifiers, conceding just 3 goals in their last 10 qualifying matches. He will be hoping to weave some of that fortitude here.

URUGUAY VS SOUTH KOREA BETTING TIPS

Uruguay have been outstanding under Alonso and they have been playing a great brand of football on both ends. They have certified snipers in the team and shouldn’t have any problems getting the ball in the back of the net here. They will be looking for a statement win here and given the spate of upsets we have witnessed in recent days, we fancy them to go for the jugular early. We are predicting them to be ahead at the break @ 2.32 with Betbonanza as the first of our betting tips today.

With the fitness of Son in doubt, South Korea have very limited attacking options. Uruguay have been rock solid at the back as they sealed qualification for the world cup and we expect them to carry that defensive mettle here. The South Americans have a good record in world cup group games, conceding just twice in the last 9  group matches, and finishing with a clean sheet through the group games twice. 1xBet app has them keeping a clean sheet here @ 1.99 and we feel there is value in picking this as our last call.
