After an up-and-down season, Leverkusen seem to be coming into form at just the right moment. A 2-0 victory over Bochum last time out was their 5^th straight Bundesliga victory and this has seen them rise to the top half of the table.

Xabi Alonso has done an excellent job of turning the club’s fortunes around considering they were deep in relegation territory when he took over the reins back in October.

With a two-legged last-32 tie against Monaco coming up in a couple of weeks, Alonso will be hoping to carry some momentum from their turnaround performances into that tie. This clash with Dortmund will certainly provide the litmus test they need to assess their progress.

BORUSSIA DORTMUND

Borussia Dortmund have in recent years been Bayern’s closest rivals for the title but this season they have been a bit underwhelming thus far. The wheels seem to have been falling off prior to the World Cup when they lost two straight games but they have come back strongly to win both of their matches after the return from the break.

The wins over Augsburg and Mainz in this last week has seen them move to 5^th, but very much within touching distance of the top four.

Terdic side have a rough slate of fixtures coming up. Freiburg are visiting them next week before they travel to take on Bochum for the last-16 of the DFB-Pokal and then face Chelsea in the Champions League knockout. He will need them to show composure during this stretch.

LEVERKUSEN VS DORTMUND PREDICTIONS
