Three gruelling weeks of the Africa Cup of Nations have produced terrific thrills and spills and two of the last four remaining teams face off in the first of two semis as Burkina Faso and Senegal lock horns at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium on Wednesday.

BURKINA FASO
Burkina Faso have exceeded all expectations at this tournament. Despite losing to hosts Cameroon, they subsequently turned things around, making it to this semifinal after defeating highly fancied opponents in the knockout rounds and in so doing overcome the odds that were stuck against them.
After finishing 2nd in Group A, they overcame Gabon on post-match penalties and then went on to put up their best game yet when they stunned Tunisia 1-0 last time out thanks to Dango Ouattara’s goal literally at the stroke of halftime.
The Stallions will however be without Outtarra for this tie after he got his marching orders in that Tunisia match after picking up two yellow cards.
SENEGAL
Senegal had a relatively sluggish start to the tournament, barely eking out a win over Zimbabwe on opening day before drawing their other two group games, much to the chagrin of their expectant fans. Despite the less than stellar performances, they still topped Group B.
They seem to have upped the ante in the knockout rounds, beating Cape Verde 2-0 before running on the rampage with a dominant 3-1 win over Equitorial Guinea at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium last Sunday.
The Lions of Teranga will be looking to go one better than the last edition where they lost in the final to Algeria in Egypt and they have a star-studded team led by Liverpool’s Sadio Mane, that has all the weapons at their disposal to get the job done this time.

BURKINA FASO VS SENEGAL PREDICTIONS
Both of these teams have been in terrific form heading into this match. Burkina Faso are unbeaten in 10 of their last 11 matches across all competitions, the opening day loss to Cameroon being the only blot on this record.
