Hosts  Cameroon welcome newcomers  Comoros at the Paul Biya Stadium for their round-of-16 matchup on Monday evening.

The Indomitable Lions have roared to the top of Group A on the back of an unbeaten run while Comoros upset the bookies with a stunning win over Ghana to book their ticket to this round.

Melbet and Yangasport have a wide range of betting markets for this clash and we will pick a couple of AFCON betting tips from them for this preview.

CAMEROON

Backed by the raucous home support, Cameroon have come up with the goods so far and dominated their group to qualify with ease for this stage. They sealed qualification to these playoffs after picking up two wins from their opening two group games. The final group game against Cape Verde was merely an academic exercise for them and the 1-1 draw was enough to confirm them as group winners.

Lady luck smiled at them with a favourable tie here against the inexperienced Comoros side who are having a dream run on their maiden appearance at this tournament.

That said, Toni Conceicao’s men will not be letting their guard down after seeing what the island nation did to AFCON giants Ghana in the last round of matches. They will look to take charge of the tie from start to finish.

COMOROS

The little known island nation of Comoros pulled the biggest upset of the tournament when they edged Ghana 3-2 in Tuesday’s dramatic final Group C game which ensured their qualification to the round of 16 as one of the best third-placed teams. They had lost their opening two group games without scoring any goal but they clearly saved their best for last!

They will be looking to continue their fairy tale run here but pulling another upset against the hosts is without a doubt a long shot and many bookies don’t seem to have any faith in that happening if the odds they have been assigned for this game is anything to go by.

Whichever way it goes, they will certainly put their best foot forward.

CAMEROON VS COMOROS PREDICTIONS

In a tournament that has been characterized by a dearth of goals, Cameroon have on the contrary have a surplus of those. They have been scoring for fun and have the most goals scored by any team in the group stages after putting 7 goals at the back of the net in their three group games. Leading the charge has been their skipper Vincent Aboubakar whose five goals have him leading the race for the golden boot. With Cameroon expected to go on the rampage here, we fancy a punt on him adding to his tally by scoring a goal anytime @ 1.57 with Melbet Bonus as our opening betting tip today.

The hosts, who have won this cup five times, look like a team on a mission to lay their hands on a 6th title. They have made the most of the home support to spur the success thus far and this is likely to go up a notch as they progress deeper into the tournament. They will look to calm any nerves at the earliest opportunity here and we are backing them to win this at halftime and full-time @ 1.30 with Yanga sport as our final shout here.
