Dynamo Kiev plays host to Sturm Graz in the 1st leg of the semifinal of the Champions League qualification at The Stadion Miejski im. Wladyslawa Krola in Poland.

The Ukrainian outfit just barely scraped past Fenerbahce in the second round of qualifying, while Austrian side Sturm Graz are just getting to wet their feet in the competition after getting byes in the previous rounds.

This should make for an interesting matchup. For our Champions League betting tips in this preview, we will turn the spotlight on Betboro and Sahara Games.

After a goalless stalemate in the first leg, Dynamo Kiev took full advantage of a 10-man Fenerbahce side in extra time to win the game 2-1 on the night and on aggregate. This was a major upset as the odds were pretty much stack against them considering they were on the road in this 2nd leg. They followed this up however with a 3-0 loss to Everton in a friendly match last Friday.

Despite losing a number of players from the team due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, coach, Lucescu has pretty much maintained the core of his key players as they rev up for the new domestic league season scheduled to start on August 20.

Dynamo Kiev have made it to the Champions League group stage in the last two seasons. They will be looking for a strong start to take to the 2nd leg in Austria if they are to make it three in a row.

Sturm Graz come into this tie on the back of a great run of form. They have stormed to the top of the Austrian league after picking up four points from their opening two games of the season. Significantly, that victory that propelled them to the top came against the defending champions RB Salzburg who they edged 2-1 thanks to a terrific double from 19-year-old Danish sensation Rasmus Hojlund.

That win sets them up on course as they prepare for the first piece of action in this year’s Champions League competition. The last time they featured was back in 2001. They did feature in the Europa League last season but failed to make the knockout rounds.

Die Schwoazn’s unbeaten record against Ukrainian opposition (W1, D1) gives them hope that they could at least make the next round of these qualifications.

Lucescu’s Dynamo Kiev have had a knack for keeping things tight and breaking at every small opportunity accorded to them. Against Fenerbahce, they kept them scoreless in the first leg and the opening half of the second leg before the breakthrough that saw them both score in the 2nd half to force extra time which they won. We expect this trend to hold here. We are likely to see a very tight opening half to this game which could then lead to a breakthrough either way in the 2nd half. As such we are backing Most Goals 2nd Half @ 2.10 with Betboro as the opening of the two betting tips for today.

After getting the better of RB Salzburg, Sturm Graz will be buzzing coming into this match. The hosts will however present a tough test here and it will not be a walk in the park. Having said that, the visitor’s overall performance makes us think they do stand a chance to come out of this game with something. They are undefeated in their last 11 games across all competitions (7W, 4D). We feel there is value in backing them on the double chance X2 here @ 1.57 with Sahara Games free bet as our final call.
