Manchester United vs Manchester City, EPL, 06.11.2021
In what is inarguably the biggest match of the weekend, Old Trafford plays host to what is likely to be an intriguing Manchester derby as the Red Devils welcome their noisy neighbours in Saturday’s EPL early kickoff.
The two Manchester outfits have had had some struggles recently and will both be looking to use this fixture to try and turn the corner.
With so much riding on this game, we expect drama galore here. We will turn the spotlight on Saharagames betting options and odds for this preview.
MANCHESTER UNITED
With fans and pundits alike baying for his blood, Ole Gunnar yet again pulled the rabbit from the hat when he travelled to North London at the weekend, as goals from Ronaldo, Cavani and Rashford earned them a 3-0 win, to temporarily stave off “Ole Out” brigade.
Tuesday’s unconvincing 2-2 draw with Atalanta in Bergamo in the Champions League brought back some of the disquiet amongst the United faithful as Cristiano Ronaldo’s heroics cancelled out Ilicic’s and Duvan Zapata’s goals to turn the group on its head, quite literally, with the rescued point moving United from 3rd to top of the group.
The result papered over United’s soft underbelly at the moment – their fragile defence, that took a further hit with Varane having to be taken off which is a major blow ahead of this derby given how well he played on his return against Tottenham.
MANCHESTER CITY
With all the attention in their neighbours in recent weeks, City were expecting it would be business as usual last weekend when they hosted Crystal Palace at the Etihad. That was not to be however as Palace upset the betting odds with a well-executed 2-0 win thanks to terrific goals from Zaha and Conor Gallagher either side of an Aymeric Laporte’s red card.
They did respond as expected in their midweek Champions League game, cruising to a flawless 4-1 win over Belgian side Club Brugge with goals from Sterling, Jesus, Foden and Mahrez.
That win ended a run of two losses, one of which saw them exiting the EFL Cup on penalties. The reigning Premier League champions are now 5 points adrift of Chelsea after 10 matches and will be looking to narrow that deficit with Chelsea playing after them.

MAN UNITED VS MAN CITY BETTING PREDICTIONS
This game has all the hallmarks of a potentially explosive encounter. It is after all a derby, the first one to be played back in front of a full stadium. Both teams will be keen to use this match as a statement of their intent for the season after they encountered some roadblocks in their pursuit of the title. Man City have surprisingly struggled to get a result in recent encounters with their arch-rivals but they start off as favorites against United who have looked vulnerable. We expect them to dominate possession and in an environment that is likely to be fraught with bad blood and cynical challenges, we are picking United to get more bookings here @ 1.92 as our opening betting tip.
United’s defence has left a lot to be desired this term. That Eric Bailly, who has had very little match experience, was their best defender against Atalanta in midweek, speaks volumes about how poor they have been. Pep Guardiola will be looking to get the Old Trafford crowd, still traumatized from the Liverpool experience, out of the equation early by going on the attack from the get-go. We fancy City to get the opening goal of the game @ 1.52 as our final call here.
