UGANDA

After four rounds, Uganda are still unbeaten in the group but their return of 8 points from two wins and two draws has them in 2nd place behind leaders Mali, who have 10 points. They kicked off the qualifiers on a rather sluggish note with the two draws but they have come alive with back-to-back wins over Rwanda, at home and away in Kigali in the last two rounds.

The Cranes defence has really stood out in the campaign so far. They have kept a clean sheet in all their matches. It is their attack that has lacked a cutting edge with just two goals to show for their efforts.

A win for them here will keep their challenge for the top spot alive and with a raucous crowd behind them, they will certainly be motivated to push for it.

KENYA

Like the hosts, they also started the campaign with a couple of draws but back-to-back losses to Mali, including an embarrassing 5-0 loss on the road has them staring at the barrel of an early exit from this qualification campaign. That massive loss in Mali led to the dismissal of the then coach Jacob Mulee and his replacement Engin Fırat took charge of the return leg in Nairobi, which, even though they lost, they managed to save face.

They remain without a win though and the outlook of their chances to get into the qualification equation does not look very promising here. A win will give them some temporary respite but they will need Mali to drop points as well which looks like a long shot at the moment given how well the Malians are playing. For the visitors, this could very well be the match to put them out of their misery.

UGANDA VS KENYA MATCH PREVIEW AND BETTING PREDICTIONS

This is always a tough derby between these two neighbours. Eight of their last nine H2H have ended in draws, including the reverse group match that was played in Nairobi which ended goalless. Both teams are in desperate need of a win here and we, therefore, expect a tight contest, particularly to start the game with neither team willing to cede too much ground to the other. As such we are picking the opening half of the game to end all square @ 2.00 as our initial betting tip for this game.

Both teams have struggled in front of goal. Uganda have just two goals from their 4 games while Kenya have just a single goal to their credit in their 4 matches. We do not expect a torrent of goals to rain down here like manna from heaven. Instead, we anticipate yet another low scoring affair. Melbet have the Under 2.5 Goals option for this game priced at 1.54 and we are going with it as our final call for the game.

We have plenty of other qualifiers coming up this week and over the weekend. Read our sure wins tomorrow to put yourself in a position to cash in from our well-researched tips.
