Borussia Dortmund vs RB Leipzig, Bundesliga 08.05.2021
Borussia Dortmund hosts RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga on Saturday with the hosts looking to jump into a Champions League spot as the season draws to a close.
Leipzig, meantime, still have a mathematical possibility of snatching the title from holders and league leaders Bayern Munich but that is really a long shot.
With both sides comfortably through to the German Cup finals, this could also serve as a sneak preview of that final. BetFox bookie review offers great prices for our betting tips for this game and we will turn the spotlight on those prices in this preview.
BORUSSIA DORTMUND
Dortmund punched their ticket to the final of the DFB-Pokal for the 10th time in their history with a commanding 5-0 win over second-tier outfit Holstein Kiel last weekend as outgoing coach Edin Terzic looks to bring the curtains down on his reign at the club with a piece of silverware.
However, an even more pressing priority for the club is to ensure they can qualify for their sixth consecutive Champions League campaign next season, especially bearing in mind the host of big clubs across Europe that have been salivating over their youngsters like vultures over a carcass.
They looked to be out of the race a month ago but a string of four straight wins coupled with Frankfurt and Wolfsburg choking in recent weeks means they are firmly back in the race. The most recent of their four wins actually came away at Wolfsburg which certainly helps their cause and they will look to continue the strong finish to the season here.
RB LEIPZIG
Like his counterpart on the opposite dugout, Nagelsmann is also set to leave the club this summer as the 33-year-old has been picked to replace Hansi Flick as Bayern’s manager. He will also look to have a final hurrah by winning the first-ever major trophy for Leipzig. Their qualification for the German Cup final was not smooth sailing though as they needed extra time to dispatch Werder Bremen in the semis.
In the league, they kept pace with Bayern and even led the league a few times this season. They however look set to finish runners up to the Bavarians who only need three points from their remaining three games to win their 9th successive tile. A win will momentarily keep their title hopes alive but no one is really holding their breath on that.

DORTMUND VS RB LEIPZIG BETTING PREDICTIONS
As it stands, Dortmund need the points here more than the visitors whose attention is firmly fixed on Thursday’s DFB-Pokal final against the same opponents. A win could see them jump as high as third on the log depending on results elsewhere. They have been on a strong run in league winning the last four on the trot. With Haaland set to make a return to the starting lineup, a straight win at evens for the home team looks pretty solid. We’ll however play it safe here and go for Dortmund Win (Draw No Bet) @ 1.57 as our opening betting tip here.
One thing that has stuck out in Dortmund’s turnaround over the last month or so has been their improved defensive output. They have kept three straight clean sheets and have conceded more than a goal in just one of their last five league matches at the Signal Iduna Park. We fancy them to keep this run going and we feel there is great value in backing RB Leipzig to Score Under 1.5 goals @ 1.59.
