Chelsea FC – AC Milan betting tip & odds comparison 05.10.2022
Chelsea will be looking to kickstart their 2022-23 Champions League campaign when they welcome AC Milan to Stamford Bridge for Wednesday’s Group E showdown.
The Blues are bottom of the group after failing to win any of their two opening matches while the visitors lead the section after grabbing four points from their two group games.
We fancy a fiery encounter here given the context of the game. We will explore our Champions League betting tips for this clash from Bet9ja and Helabet.

CHELSEA
A 2-1 comeback win at Selhurst Park at the weekend earned Graham Potter his first win as Chelsea’s manager. Odsonne Edouards’s early goal for Palace put them ahead but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s brilliant equalizer, his first for the club, put Chelsea on level terms at the break. Conor Gallagher then stepped up and got the winner from the bench right at the end.
Having got the money off his back, Potter’s attention now turns to Europe where they are fighting to stay alive. His first match was a dour 1-1 draw with RB Salzburg on matchday 2 which was quite disappointing considering they lost to Dinamo Zagreb, a loss that ultimately claimed the scalp of former coach Thomas Tuchel.
With Milan just three points clear first place, there is still everything to play for and the Blues will be keen in getting themselves back in contention to qualify from the group by going for the kill here.
AC MILAN
Serie A defending champions Milan also had a fruitful weekend as they won 3-1 over Empoli to keep pace with league leaders Napoli who have been sizzling to start the new season. Fode Ballo-Toure, Rafael Leao and Ante Rebic were all on target as they returned to winning ways in style.
The Rossoneri have had a strong start to this season’s Champions League, having matched their points haul from last season’s UCL group in which they finished bottom. After sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Salzburg on opening day, they turned the heat on Croatian outfit Dinamo Zagreb, beating them 3-1 at the San Siro.
Having said that, this will be a much tougher trip for them. They are dealing with major injury issues, with up to 9 players on the treatment table at the moment. They have also lost each of their last three games to Premier League opponents, including home and away losses to Liverpool last term.

CHELSEA VS AC MILAN PREDICTIONS
Given the extent of Milan’s injury crisis, this will mostly be a damage limitation exercise for them. We expect them to embrace a defensive approach to the game which will give Chelsea the impetus to attack. The Blues do not need any invitation to attack anyway. They are bottom of the pile in the group and they need to breathe life to their campaign. We fancy Potter’s men to get out of the gate firing and we are backing them to score the opening goal of the game and win @ 1.87 with Helabet as the first of our betting tips today.
With the Blues likely to dominate possession here and given their propensity to play through the wings, we expect them to dominate the corners count here. They have had more corners in 3 of their last 5 home games. A repeat of this pays 1.43 with Bet9ja app and we feel there is value in picking this as our final shout for this clash.
