Chelsea and Leicester City are set to battle this Saturday in the FA Cup Final which is scheduled to be played in front of 21,000 Wembley spectators.

Both teams prevailed through fairly tough opposition en route to the final and we, therefore, expect an intriguing encounter here.

CHELSEA

Chelsea look like a completely new outfit under Thomas Tuchel. The former Borussia Dortmund and PSG boss has quickly established his footprint on the team and has overseen a turnaround in the team’s fortunes with the Blues now competing for honors domestically and continentally. Not only do they have this final to take care of, but they also made the finals of the Champions League where they are set to play Manchester City. They are also in the thick of the top-four race.

Few would have expected this much from them given the state they were in before Tuchel came on board. The German tactician, who lost 1-0 to Arsenal’s Arteta in their midweek London derby, will look to follow Arteta’s FA Cup success story from last year who also took over at Arsenal in the middle of the season.

Arteta’s success actually came at the expense of the Blues last season and they will be looking to go one better this time around and lift the trophy for the ninth time.

LEICESTER CITY

Leicester have emerged from the shadows in the last decade and have seemingly joined the ranks of the top-tier teams in the last half of the decade. This run has seen them win the Premier League title against all odds back in 2016 and they have competed for European places in the league the last couple of seasons too.

Having said that, other than that Premier League title, they really haven’t had much else to show and there is a strong belief among the club faithful that Brendan Rogers will be the man to turn around that narrative.

A 2-1 win at Old Trafford in their midweek fixture, albeit against a weakened United squad, certainly adds to the confidence and momentum in the squad. They have also had a great run in this competition this season culminating their first FA Cup final since 1969.

CHELSEA VS LEICESTER BETTING PREDICTIONS

With the exception of the midweek game, Chelsea have been on a terrific run that has seen them handle big teams with relative ease. They beat Atletico twice in their UCL quarterfinal and dispatched of Real Madrid in a close semifinal. They have also beaten Man City twice in quick succession in that run. Whilst Leicester and Rodgers deserve some respect, they will mostly be playing second fiddle here, trying to hit Chelsea on the counter. With Chelsea expected to dominate possession, and given their preference to playing through the wings, we expect them to win the corners battle in this game with ease and @ 1.59 we feel this is a great price to back for our opening betting tip.

Inasmuch as this is expected to be a cagey affair, like the semi-finals involving these teams were, we anticipate a much more open game here.
