Betting tips & odds comparison 28.08.2022 Paris Saint-Germain FC – AS Monaco FC
Ligue 1 defending champions Paris Saint-Germain will be looking to continue their sizzling start to the defence of their title when they welcome Monaco at home on Sunday.
The Parisians have won all three of their matches this season in emphatic style while the visitors have struggled and find themselves in the bottom half of the table.
Anything outside of a comfortable home win for PSG will be a humongous upset. We will explore the Ligue 1 betting tips in this preview from Betway and Betfox
PSG
Barely 3 rounds into the new season, it is already looking like another routine Ligue 1 title is in the offing for PSG. They have won all three of their opening games, but even more significant, pumped in 17 goals while at it! It’s difficult to see who, if anyone, is going to slow down this juggernaut.
New manager Christophe Galtier has blended with the team like a fish in the sea. The players have seemingly bought into his philosophy and the results are there to see for all and sundry. They travelled to Galtier’s old team Lille, where he won a Ligue 1 title two seasons ago, and they ran riot with a 7-1 thumping with goals from Messi, Hakimi, a brace from Neymar and a terrific 2nd-half hattrick from Kylian Mbappe.
With the Ligue 1 looking relatively predictable, PSG will turn their telescope further across Europe now that the UCL Group stage draw was completed. They were drawn with Juventus, Benfica, and Maccabi Haifa – a group they should have no problems qualifying from. The immediate task however is to dispatch Monaco which they should do with ease.
MONACO
Monaco were hoping to join the hosts in the Champions League but were left ruing missed opportunities as Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven pipped them 4-3 on aggregate in the Champions League third round qualifying a couple of weeks back to grab that elusive ticket to mingle with the big boys in the group stage of Europe’s most treasured club football competition.
Back at home, their start to this season’s Ligue 1 campaign has been far from ideal. They have only picked up 4 points from their three opening matches. Last weekend’s 4-1 home loss to Lens raised a few eyebrows although coach Philippe Clement sought to calm nerves by taking responsibility and promising the team would be better in subsequent games.
That better performance might have to wait for another matchday as the odds are stuck against them on this trip to Paris. They will need to be at their best to at least avoid another embarrassing loss.

PSG VS MONACO PREDICTIONS
As promised by manager Clement, Monaco will be fairly better than they were last week as they lost heavily at home. But even that might not be enough against the goal-scoring threat posed by Paris Saint-Germain. The capital side are playing some breathtaking brand of attacking football and look far more solidly at the back than they have looked in recent years. For the first of our betting tips today, we are backing PSG to win by at least a 2-goal margin a@ 1.58 with Betfox.
The head of the snake in this attack has been none other than Kylian Mbappe. After being linked with a move away from the club last summer, the French international opted to stay and he has been absolutely brilliant to start the season with 4 goals in his last two Ligue 1 games. He also averages at least a goal a match in the last 9 games against his former club Monaco. Betway Bonus have him to score anytime priced @ 1.51 and we are picking this as our final tip for this match.
