RB Leipzig – Manchester City FC betting tips & odds comparison 22.02.2023

Manchester City’s Champions  League knockout campaign starts with a trip to Germany where they will face RB Leipzig in the first leg of their last-16 tie on Wednesday night.

RB Leipzig are riding on a 4-game winning streak while the Citizens will be looking to bounce back from a dour draw at the weekend that slightly dented the defence of their league title.

We expect a close but exciting game here. Our Champions League betting tips for this clash will be from 22Bet and Mozzartbet.

RB LEIPZIG

RB Leipzig looked dead in the water in their Group F after losing the first two games to Shakhtar and Real Madrid. But the Bulls made a dramatic recovery to win their remaining four group games to finish second in the group behind Real Madrid.

Those four wins were part of an impressive 18-game unbeaten run by Die Roten Bullen across all competitions between October 1 and February 11, which was cut short by Union Berlin who defeated them 2-1.

Marco Rose’s side bounced back with a 3-0 away win at Wolfsburg at the weekend which moved them to fifth in the Bundesliga, which moved them to fifth in one of the most competitive Bundesliga races in recent years. They beat City here 2-1 the last time they met and will look for more of the same.

MANCHESTER CITY

Barely days after seizing control of the Premier League title race, Manchester City were pegged back as they gave the initiative back to the Gunners with a 1-1 draw away at Nottingham on Saturday. City dominated possession and created enough chances to win across the game but just couldn’t find their scoring boots on the day. They find themselves two points adrift of leaders Arsenal having played a game more.

Attention now shifts to the Champions League which has been a point of emphasis for Man City in the last couple of seasons. They came so close to winning it all a couple of seasons ago and will certainly be keen to have another go.

The Citizens will be wary of the Germans who beat them on their last visit here. They will be looking to take a decisive advantage back to the 2nd leg in Manchester to come.

LEIPZIG VS MANCHESTER CITY PREDICTIONS

This will be a close contest. RB Leipzig are enjoying a great run of form while the visitors on their day can overrun just about anyone in Europe. We expect a close opening half to this game but we fancy things to open up in the 2nd half with both teams looking to swing a decisive advantage from this opening leg. As such we are backing the 2nd half of this game to have more goals than the 1st @ 2.00 with Mozzartbet as the first of our betting tips today.

TIP #1: Most goals 2nd half

Guardiola’s side have shown great recovery from deflating results this season we expect the same here. City will do all the early running and we fancy them to draw first blood in this encounter. They have opened the scoring in 3 of their last 4 games. A repeat of this here pays @ 1.65 with 22Bet Bonus and we are picking this as our final call for this clash.

TIP #2: 1st goal Manchester City
