We start on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League, kickoff time 20:45 CET, as usual.
Bayer Leverkusen host Atletico Madrid in the first leg home match in BayArena. They definitely need to score a goal at home if they want to have a chance to advance and they have some nice offensive players in Heung-Min Son (3 CL-goals), Karim Bellarabi (9 Bundesliga goals), Josip Drmic, Hakan Calhanoglu or Stefan Kießling. Atletico Madrid should however be the better side and get a nice 1st leg result by scoring at least once. Both teams to score for very solid 1,91.
At the same time Arsenal host Monaco in the Emirates Stadium. The Ligue 1 side will focus 100 % on defending and they just allowed their opponents to score 1 goal in 6 CL group matches. The Premier League side should still find a way to score but we don’t expect many goals in this one. Under 3,5 seems solid, but we go with the riskier betting option of under 2,5 goals for nice 1,72.
This brings us to Thursday, when the first Europa League teams need to risk everything in order to stay in the tournament.
One of those teams is for sure Olympiakos Piraeus. The greek side lost the first match against Dnipro Dnjepropetrovsk with 2:0 away and therefore need to show a great performance in front of their homefans. They are in fact strong at home and as Dnipro can afford to lose, we are quite sure they get the win. The odds are nice at 1,80 and we place our betting tip on the home win.
Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach host Primera Division rivals FC Sevilla for the reverse match after a 1:0 loss in Spain in the first leg. They need to attack therefore and should at least be able to score once. FC Sevilla are however the stronger side and will manage to score the crucial away goal. Both teams will score and Bwin pays solid 1,75 for that selection.
