Newcastle v Chelsea
Newcastle have major injury problems and will be missing their goalkeeper Krul, captain Coloccini, Williamson, and Janmaat.
Both teams are in terrific form but Chelsea can set a new club record of 24 matches unbeaten in all competitions by avoiding defeat on Saturday (W17, D6).
Jose Mourinho’s side have gained nine points from losing positions this season. Eden Hazard has scored four goals in three Premier League appearances against Newcastle United – more than against any other side.
Chelsea seem ‘invincible’ and should be on a high after humiliating London rivals Tottenham and are more than capable of overcoming the handicap here especially considering Newcastle’s injuries.
Verdict : Chelsea -1 @ 2.60 at Bookie Interwetten
QPR v Burnley
Rangers have earned seven points from their last three games at Loftus Road, drawing 2-2 with Manchester City as well as beating Aston Villa and Leicester.
They have lost just one of their last six home league games (W3, D2, L1); only the current top seven sides in the table have a better home record this season. Charlie Austin has scored five goals in the last six games at Loftus Road.
Burnley’s away record of one win and five points from six matches is only better than the bottom two sides, Leicester and QPR. The Clarets have conceded a league-high nine headed goals this season.
QPR know to survive they have to get points @ home and this is a massive ‘six-pointer’ so they will go all out for the win.
Verdict : QPR @ 2.14 at Bookie Bet365
Stoke v Arsenal
Stoke have several fitness concerns, with Jonathan Walters nursing a knee problem and Glenn Whelan and Robert Huth also doubtful with calf injuries.
Stephen Ireland could miss out because of illness while Steve Sidwell, Peter Odemwingie, Victor Moses and Dionatan Teixeira are all sidelined.
This is the 100th meeting between the clubs in all competitions. Arsenal lead by 52 wins to Stoke’s 24, with 23 draws.
The Potters have already suffered three Premier League defeats at home – as many as in the whole of last season. They have gone eight matches without a clean sheet and have only kept two all season, the joint-fewest in the division.
A third successive league win on Saturday would represent Arsenal’s best run of form this season. They have kept four clean sheets in their last six matches, winning on each occasion. The Gunners have scored a league-high seven goals in the final five minutes of matches in 2014-15.
Alexis Sanchez has scored eight goals in his last eight Arsenal games in all competitions.
Verdict : Arsenal @ 2.05 at Bookie SBO Bet
Aston Villa v Leicester
Important Villa forward Andreas Weimann will serve a one-match ban on Sunday for accumulating five bookings.
The Foxes have scored in each of their last nine league trips to Villa Park.
Villa ended a nine-match winless league run with victory over Crystal Palace on Tuesday. They have only managed one point from their four most recent matches at Villa Park and have lost nearly half of their last 61 home games in the Premier League (W14, D17, L30).
The Villans have only scored four goals in their last 10 league matches. Their overall tally of eight goals in 14 matches is their worst return at this stage of a top-flight season. Only four players have scored a league goal for Villa this season – fewer than any other team. They are the only side yet to earn a point after going behind this season.
The last three meetings between Aston Villa and Leicester City in all competitions have ended as away wins.
Verdict : Leicester @ 3.3 at Bookie BetVictor
Tottenham v Crystal Palace
Tottenham have lost four Premier League games at White Hart Lane – only West Brom have suffered as many home defeats.
According to my system this match has the potential to be a ‘shock’ result of the weekend. There aren’t many stats to support this forecast but stats are just that – stats. My system considers all factors and variables.
Tottenham win odds are bad value which sometimes means that the other teams’ odds represent value.
My system is both subjective and objective whilst also using data that is both qualitative and quantitative.
Verdict : Crystal Palace +0.5 @ 2.55 at Bookie Bet365
