Expekt betting app

The competition between online bookmakers has also reached the market for mobile devices, and bookies around the world have tried to establish themselves and maintain their position in the area of mobile betting by providing the best sports betting apps for smartphones and tablets. Naturally, a renowned company like the Scandinavian bookie Expekt partakes in this competition. We have tested the Expekt mobile app, and in our review we will inform you about all the strengths and weakness we encountered in the process in order to help you with finding the bookie that suits you best. Enjoy the review.

The first impression is quite clear. Similar to the desktop version, the app is mainly designed in shades of orange and dark/light grey. The welcome screen offers two options, namely the sports betting section and the bookie’s casino games. For the sake of this review, we will focus on the sports betting section, which is opened by touching the respective button on your screen.

Once you have decided for one of the main options on your welcome screen, you can set up your betting account at Expekt mobile by registering. In case you have already taken that step, you will see upcoming event highlights on your screen, and below the highlights you can find the current live offer. A bit further below, a selection of highlight events including the respective odds is displayed. Overall, we can say that the first impression is a very positive one. It’s fairly easy to keep an overview of the offer, and we did not encounter any sorts of problems while taking our first steps using the Expekt mobile app.

In case you are interested in our review of the Expekt desktop version, we gladly refer you to our detailed review of the bookie which you can also find on our homepage. Additionally, we recommend you to check out our livetipsportal betting glossary which helps you to come to terms with the rather complicated and sometimes confusing terminology in sports betting.

Installing the Expekt app

Before you can effectively start betting on your mobile device, you need to get hold of the bookie’s app of course. The question now is whether you have to download a specific app from an app store, or whether you can simply open the mobile version of the bookie page without having to sacrifice any storage space on your device. In this regard, the Expekt mobile app is fairly uncomplicated as you don’t have to download any specific software. Just type in the bookie’s URL into your browser, and you will immediately be redirected to the mobile version. All in all, getting started with Expekt mobile is pretty much straightforward and does not require you to invest a lot of your time.

Signing up with Expekt mobile

If you would like to register with Expekt on your mobile device, you can do so at any time. Whether you’re on the road or at home, and regardless of whether you use Apple or Android services, registration is always possible. We explicitly mention this, because a lot of bookies do not allow for registration via their apps, and you have to turn to the desktop version in order to sign up before you can use the bookie’s mobile services. This is especially cumbersome if you primarily use mobile devices for betting.

As for Expekt, registration works on all terminal devices, from phones to your PC. Signing up is not very complicated and only requires you to complete a three-step registration procedure before you can start placing your first bets. In step one, you need to enter some personal, account-specific information, such as your full name, your username, and a valid email address as well as your DOB. Once you have completed step one, you can proceed by entering further personal information (including your address and phone number, which is obligatory), before you can finish off the registration by effectively providing your account information (username, password, security question). Furthermore you can enter promotional codes for bonus offers. Interestingly, you already have to agree to the bookie’s terms and conditions in step one, so step three is completed solely by entering a CAPTCHA.

Overall, it will only take you a few minutes to fill in all the registration forms, which is absolutely okay, given the fact that bookie pages need to fulfil a quite comprehensive list of safety standards. The design of the registration forms is very clear and comprehensible, and thus facilitates the whole procedure significantly.

Depositing with Expekt mobile

Once the registration procedure has been completed, you have to make a first deposit into your newly created Expekt account before you can start betting. However, it takes a little effort to find the deposit section, as the button is not very prominently placed. You can find the payment section in a subsection of the menu selection.

Login and logout with Expekt mobile

Once the information you have provided in the course of your registration has been verified, you can easily log into Expekt mobile and make your first deposit.

Overall, the various steps required before you can place your first steps should not be a problem for the average user. Deposits can be made with a variety of payment methods, such as VISA/Mastercard, Skrill, and Neteller amongst others. The minimum deposit value is 5 €.

Usability and design

Besides the ease of use as far as the registration and deposit procedures are concerned, the overall usability and the design of the mobile bookie service are crucial. Once you get to the Expekt mobile sports section, you get a comprehensive overview of the bookie’s offers. Especially the live section caught our attention straight away. As soon as you are logged into your Expekt mobile account, you can easily place bets on live events and get an overview of a complete selection of events in play. Furthermore, the app lists all upcoming events, which will be available for live betting, and the in-play section for football, provides you with odds for all the various matches of the day.

Back on the front page of the bookie’s mobile app, you get an overview of the upcoming top events from which you can pick your favourites to place your first bets. In general, the whole process of selecting odds and placing bets is quite straightforward due to neatly arranged lists provided by the bookie. The design is by no means spectacular, but the utilitarian approach suits the purpose best. In contrast to the desktop version of the bookie page, Expekt have used their signature colour orange a bit more economical which definitely contributes to a more balanced and lucid design.

It does not require a lot of effort to sift through the broad range of offers at Expekt mobile, and if you would like the content to be displayed in other languages than English, the bookie provides the offer in seven different languages including Swedish, Norwegian, and Finnish as well as Polish, German, and Czech.

Mobile betting

If you want to go about your betting work without any distractions, you will surely get your money’s worth with the Expekt mobile app. The neatly arranged offer facilitates the betting process, and the overall range of events available is more than solid. Naturally, the focus is on football, which offers the majority of markets in comparison to other sports. If you don’t want to bet on live action, you can easily select the respective event in the league of your choice. If you’re a fan of the German Bundesliga for instance, it only takes you three steps to get to the current match day. In the overview, you can already choose odds for three-way bets, and if you want to take a deeper look into the various markets available per game, just tap on the respective event. By offering the three-way bet option already in the overview, the betting process is again facilitated, and you can place combi bets straight away.

With the number of markets for an average Bundesliga game as high as 40, Expekt offers a great deal more than just the basic three-way bet option. Bets are placed quite easily, and depending on whether you want to go for three-way bets, or for a more comprehensive range of markets, you’re just 4 or 5 clicks away from adding bets to your bet slip.

The Expekt mobile sportsbook

Overall, the bookie’s mobile app offers a broad selection of events in sports as well as in entertainment and politics. While the focus is clearly on the sportsbook, which comprises 27 different kinds of sports, a nice selection of events in politics and entertainment, such as bets on X Factor contestants or election candidates, offers a bit of relief if you get tired of betting on sports every once in a while. Naturally, the majority of events available are to be found in the football section. However, the range of events offered in basketball and tennis, for instance, leaves little to be desired as well. Overall, we found that the Expekt mobile version is in no way inferior to the web version as far as the sportsbook is concerned.

If you love sports betting, the Expekt app should provide you with everything you need to unleash the punter in you. No matter whether you’re into volleyball, handball or Formula 1 racing – you’ll find events in your favourite sport in no time. As far as fringe sports are concerned, the offer is rather limited, and you might want to turn to the desktop version for that. However, bigger events such as the Poker World Series are available on the mobile app as well.

Our verdict on the Expekt mobile app

After an exhaustive test undertaken by our livetipsportal team, we can say that the developers at Expekt have done a solid job on their mobile application. The mobile version can definitely keep up with the web version in terms of usability and range of events and bet options offered. On the contrary, we thought that the mobile version of Expekt actually surpasses the standards set by the desktop version. While the latter appears to be a bit outdated in matters of design, the former is more modern and well-arranged from start (registration) to finish (placing bets). Furthermore, the Expekt bonus offer is also available on mobile devices, and you get a money-back guarantee in case you lose your first bet. Keep in mind, however, that the minimum stake unit must not be lower than 10 € and the maximum yield is 77 €. Also, the odds must not be lower than 2,00, and the bet must be placed within 60 days.

While we found plenty of positives, the lack of options in the customer support section slightly disappointed us. Expekt mobile only offers a FAQ section, and if you’re unlucky and you don’t find that your question has already been answered, you will need to turn to the web version in order to get adequate support.

Overall, we can fully recommend this mobile bookie app as offered by Expekt. The ease of use from the registration procedure to the sportsbook and the range of events offered convinced us from start to finish. Especially hobby punters will appreciate the Expekt mobile app with its straightforward handling.
