Welcome to our review of the Austrian online bookie bet-at-home. We have put this bookmaker to the acid test and analysed every aspect from the registration, to payment options for deposits and withdrawals, to the site’s usability as well as the sportsbook and the bookie’s mobile app.
Bet-at-home was founded in 1999 in Austria, and is considered an ideal bookie when it comes to reliability and integrity. The company is still growing and has been acquiring a clientele of about 3.2 million punters from all over Europe since 1999. While reliability is a main factor, many punters also chose bet-at-home for the bookie’s extensive range of offers.

The first aspect of our review will deal with the registration at bet-at-home, because signing up is also the first step you will have to take before you can actually start betting. The registration form at bet-at-home is quite lucid and signing up is fairly straightforward. The registration is itself structured into two parts. Firstly, you are required to enter your name, your address and country, and your date of birth as well as a valid email address. Whether you want to enter a phone number is optional, but it will facilitate your contacting the bookie (or vice versa) in case of problems. Further identification (ID cards, passports) is not required either. In order to make your account as safe as possible, you need to enter a password with a minimum of 8 characters including letters and digits. Furthermore, you will be asked to choose and answer a security question, in case you forget your password. After you have confirmed the general terms and conditions, you have completed step one of your registration. Secondly, your personal account number will be sent to the email address you have entered before, and you will be asked to click the confirmation link in the email thus completing the registration process.
In order to get going properly, you need to make a deposit into your account. Bet-at-home offers a variety of payment options in that regard. The following picture shows all the available payment options, and you will see that these vary according to the country you are from.
One downside regarding the payment options is the fact that PayPal is not available at bet-at-home. Furthermore, you need to keep in mind that credit card use for making a deposit will be charged with a 2% fee. As you can see on the image above, some of the options require a minimum deposit. Apart from Western Union, however, these minimum amounts do not exceed 10 €.
Let’s get down to the nitty-gritty!
One important factor in your decision whether to choose a bookie or not should always be the site’s usability. Ideally, the design of a bookie page is clear and straightforward, and facilitates the betting. Visually, bet-at-home appears mainly in blue, and in comparison to younger competitors in the sports betting industry, the design seems to be a bit antiquated. However, the page is structured quite clearly and most sections/buttons are more or less self-explanatory, which is vital when it comes to placing a bet. The main navigation bar which includes the whole range offered at bet-at-home is located at the top.
On the front page, you can see live results and events in play on which you can bet. Once you have chosen your odds, your bet slip will appear at the top on the right of your screen and you can enter the stake per bet which then needs to be confirmed to ultimately place the bet.
On the bet slip, you can also choose from various betting options including, for instance, single, combi, system, and multiway bets (check out our article about system betting). After you have confirmed the bets on your bet slip, you can either print the bet slip, or request it to be sent via email.
If you don’t find the match you are looking for on the front page, you just need to click the respective item on the left-hand side. Since the betting site is constituted of pop-up windows, you can easily switch back and forth without having to reload the respective pages, which facilitates the placing of bets. To test the site’s usability, we tried to place a bet on a match in a lower division, and it only took us 3 clicks, and thus a few seconds to bet on a match in Austria’s third division.
In the course of our test, the page loaded quickly and we did not face any server- or traffic-related problems. Overall, bet-at-home is a clearly designed site that really serves its primary purpose, i.e. facilitating the betting.
Bet-at-home offers a great variety of 18 different languages. This clearly illustrates the global status of this bookie and that punters from all around the world trust the services of bet-at-home.com.
The range of events offered in the sportsbook is certainly the centrepiece of the bookie’s global success. Bet-at-home offers in-play events as well as regular bets. Especially for football fans, the range of options is quite extensive, but the bookie also offers events in many other kinds of sports such as tennis, ice hockey, handball, beach volleyball, basketball, and baseball to name but a few. As far as the in-play offer is concerned, the bookie provides a lot of different events, but fails to offer a satisfying number of betting options.
Bet-at-home offers most of the customary betting options in sports betting. Besides the options of single, combi, system, and multiway bets on the bet slip that we have already mentioned above, the bookie also offers options such as ‘which team will score first’, or ‘how will the game run?’. Furthermore, you find odds for default handicaps, results and various over/under betting scenarios. With an average of 10 betting options, however, the offer at bet-at-home cannot compete with the top dogs in the sports betting industry.
A sell-your-bet option, which is becoming increasingly popular amongst punters, is not (yet) available either at bet-at-home.
The minimum stake at bet-at-home is 0,50 € and the maximum yield is limited to 50.000 €.
To break up the sports betting monotony, bet-at-home further offers an online casino as well as an online live casino, and poker including the required software.
Some of the most interesting and helpful features at bet-at-home.com are the statistics and livescore pages which give information about live results and league tables in various sports and leagues around the world. This offer is further enhanced by livestreams of various sporting events. The stats site also gives information about team sheets and prior performances.
In case of any questions or problems, you just need one click to get into contact with the customer service via an online form. If you have got an urgent request for help, you can get into contact via a live chat.
With a bookie like bet-at-home, who is renowned for a high level of reliability and integrity, cashing out does not cause any troubles. Like most other online bookies, bet-at-home require you to provide a valid ID. Unfortunately, the bookie does not offer the same variety of payment options for withdrawal as it does for making deposits. Especially credit card users will frown at the sight of a minimum withdrawal limit of 100 €. For other payment options such as Skrill or for bank transfers the withdrawal limit is at 10 €. The latter options are free of charge if you do not exceed the respective monthly limits of withdrawal (two times for Skrill; three times for bank transfer).
If you want to enjoy the bet-at-home betting experience while you’re going by tube or train, or while sipping your coffee at Starbucks (free wi-fi!), you should definitely get yourself the bookie’s mobile app. Make sure you check out our detailed bet-at-home mobile betting review and learn about all the features that come with it.
If you love sports and look for a reliable bookie with a solid web page that exclusively includes useful features with no frills, you definitely get your money’s worth at bet-at-home.com. The bookie’s target group most likely consists of novice bettors or hobby punters who appreciate the fact that the sportsbook and the range of betting options might not compete with more prolific bookmakers, but makes the site therefore clearer. Another positive feature that we liked was the statistics and livescore section, which is quite comprehensive and gives useful information about the respective teams involved.
While hobby punters surely appreciate the offer at bet-at-home, more experienced bettors might especially miss a variety of betting options per game, and thus go for a more prolific bookie.
